As we are keen about our reader’s health and their wellbeing, we have been working on interviewing international cardiologists from all over the globe. As we had an interview with one of the best cardiologists; Prof. Mamas Andreas; he was very generous to answer our questions.
We asked him:
What motivated you to be a part of CardioAlex2018 international faculty?
And he answered:
CardioAlex is an internationally respected congress, with high calibre, world class faculty delivering state of the art talks around relevant topics in cardiology. It is an honor to join this faculty enabling me to share my expertise with colleagues and younger clinicians, and learn from others experience in the beautiful city of Alexandria.
What is your advice to Egyptian young physicians?
Keep abreast of current literature through subscription of updates from the major journals. try to experience other healthcare systems through international fellowships and become involved in research. Most importantly enjoy what you are doing
Could you enlighten & give us a brief about the topic you will present this year?
The areas that i will focus around this year are antiplatelet therapy in left main stem PCI and transradial PCI. Bleeding complications are amongst the most important complications of PCI and switching to radial access has been shown to save lives and money. i will focus on our research from the British Cardiovascular Interventional Society that my group has published showing benefits of transradial and how it can be adopted in Egypt. We are undertaking more complex PCI in patients and i will structure my talk around optimal antiplatelet therapy in high risk LMS patients.
A wish… (CardioAlex & Egypt)
That it is a successful meeting and that we all learn something new, and that it will benefit our patients.
